In February 2020, I joined Mirvac with a clear goal: to establish a Digital Engineering function that delivered tangible value across one of Australia’s leading tier 1 developers.
Drawing on prior experience from WeWork — where I saw how integrated, data-driven workflows could accelerate design, construction, and operations — I recognised Mirvac’s unique potential as a fully integrated developer. The opportunity was to apply that same clarity and speed to a different kind of organisation.
Starting from scratch, I built a 4-person DE team that operated like an internal consultancy, supporting 10+ major projects including Green Square Site 15 ($300M) and Project One ($450M). By aligning Design, Construction, and Development through practical, user-focused systems, we proved DE’s impact where it mattered most — in delivery.
Digital Delivery Manager, Design & Construction
My Contributions:
Team Formation: Built and led a 4-person DE team, acting as an internal consultancy, scoping services and bidding for 10+ project wins, supported by a working group of engineers, designers, architects, construction, and DE professionals.
Workflow Development: Implemented scalable BIM processes across 10+ projects to improve coordination and delivery certainty.
Cross-Unit Integration: Bridged internal teams across Design, Construction, and Development to align on digital delivery goals.
Capability Uplift: Delivered tooling, documentation, and training to build digital fluency across teams
Project Leadership: Led fee proposals, resource management, client meetings, and project initiations, securing and delivering competitive projects.
Digital Engineering at Mirvac was about delivering smarter, faster, and more predictable project outcomes from within. Our 4-person DE team, operating as an internal consultancy, scoped services and won appointments for 10+ projects, including Green Square Site 15 ($300M, mixed-use) and Project One ($450M, residential), totaling a $1B+ pipeline. By leveraging BIM and digital workflows, we connected design data to delivery outcomes, streamlined coordination, and embedded digital processes into daily decisions across Design, Construction, and Development, transforming Mirvac’s portfolio in the $356B AEC industry.
Key Wins
Built In-House DE Function: Established Mirvac’s first internal Digital Engineering team, delivering across a $1B+ project portfolio.
Standardised BIM Workflows: Implemented consistent, efficient processes that improved quality and reduced rework.
Strengthened Cross-Disciplinary Coordination: Improved collaboration, reduced ambiguity, and enhanced design confidence.
Unified Digital Priorities: Delivered adaptable systems that aligned DE across multiple business units.
Drove Project Wins: Secured key projects by embedding DE into proposals and delivery models.
Developed Stakeholder Dashboards: Created integrated dashboards combining project and BIM data to visualise progress, quality, and health—providing clear insights for stakeholders.
Adopted Agile Methods: Introduced Scrum and agile practices to streamline design workflows and improve responsiveness.
Automated Quantity & Cost Processes: Partnered with Quantity Surveyors to use BIM data for accurate take-offs and cost automation.
Enabled Carbon-Aware Design: Leveraged BIM insights to support Mirvac’s Net Zero goals, successfully demonstrated in the “Greenway” project to executives.
At Mirvac, the objective wasn’t to enforce a framework—it was to build systems that genuinely improved outcomes on site.
My focus was on solving the right problems: listening to project teams, understanding their needs, and designing workflows that supported real-world delivery. My time at WeWork—where speed, data, and integration were essential—shaped my ability to drive efficiency without compromising quality.
Mirvac’s vertically integrated model provided the perfect platform to apply this approach. We developed connected, cross-disciplinary workflows that supported teams throughout the project lifecycle, embedding Digital Engineering as a trusted, valuable part of everyday delivery.
Effective digital transformation begins with alignment—not just technology.
At Mirvac, success required balancing the priorities of design, construction, and development. Our team needed to act quickly, communicate clearly, and consistently deliver greater value than external consultants.
We focused on clarity, simplicity, and solving the problems that mattered most. These principles now underpin my approach to public infrastructure at TfNSW and platform strategy at Circlo—ensuring that digital solutions remain grounded, effective, and trusted.
